The Hatch Show Print process was a special way to create playbills back in 1879. Founded as CR and HH Hatch by brothers Charles and Herbert Hatch in 1879, Each print is a work of art created using the same letterpress technique today as the Hatch brothers used back in 1879. This process involves hand-carved blocks that form Hatch posters being laid out in reverse on plates, inked and run through antique letterpress machines by hand. Tom Ryman came across these special posters when he attended a tent revival in 1885 and the rest is history!
Still to this day, there has been a rich history between these two companies with the Hatch brothers creating special “Hatch Print Playbills” for the infamous Ryman Auditorium during the heyday of the Grand Ole Opry and still today. These limited-edition Hatch prints sell out quickly and rarely are reproduced, making them instant collector’s items. If you missed Joe’s three sold out concerts at the iconic Ryman Auditorium, you can still capture the moment with your own souvenir “Hatch prints” that are hand-signed by Joe.
